Entwining ecopsychological and ecosomatic approaches PRIMORDIAL invites you to immerse in a three day, deep exploration of embodied existence.
Existing since the beginning, the elements of earth, air, fire and water hold the wisdom of deep time, a wisdom carried in our wild animal bodies. Just like the outer landscape, our inner world is made up of, and cannot survive without, the core elements of existence. They are the foundations of our very being, moving through within and around us in pure alchemy.
Entwining ecopsychological and ecosomatic approaches PRIMORDIAL invites you to immerse in a deep exploration of embodied existence. Awakening our intero/exteroceptive awareness, feeling, sensing, knowing, responding to the interconnectedness of inner and outer nature through a somatic and therapeutic approach to awareness, movement, resonance and expression.
Over three days we will meet each element through a curious enquiry of its presence within the outer landscape and within the landscape of ourselves.
Inviting our bodies to explore a dynamic conversation and an embodied way of knowing/being with the greater body of earth and cosmos through intuitive and expressive movement, sound and creativity.
Awakening to their presence as a source of wisdom and innate intelligence that can support us to move with and through our emotional landscape and resource us when the going gets tough.
Moving between spaces on the land and in the yurt and teepee the weekend will offer practices and activities to enhance your experience of belonging and connection to and with the living world, human and other than human.
This will be an intimate and deep exploration and as such spaces will be very limited.
Its no surprise that so many of us are living from a 'neck up' place. Since the sixteenth century our bodies have been mechanised, subordinated, degraded and devalued, so we may have learnt not to trust them, enjoy them or even like them.
This severance has led us into an over reliance on our thinking mind, stifled the subtle ways our body whispers to us and contributed to the disconnection we feel to the greater earth body.
As we rekindle our relationship to our flesh, skin, bone and the wild mystery that courses through each vein, each cell, each strand of hair, we remember how to listen. It is from this deep listening that we come to know the sparkling pool of wisdom that pulses within us, and we return our body to the wild body of earth, remembering our unquestionable belonging.

There will be no fancy catering, luxury lodges or fluffy bathrobes. This is not a retreat. It is an opportunity to let go of all the distractions and expectations so we can truly come into a conversation with the landscapes of inner and outer nature. The Mill House is a beautiful venue, set atop a hill with meadows, old oaks, standing stones, a labyrinth and gardens to explore, all resided over by the Old Mill. We will have use of the sacred yurt, land, Granary kitchen, campsite and basic facilities, tipi and swimming pond for the duration of our time together.
We will be cooking dinner each night over the fire, so it will be a one pot wonder, vegetarian and wholesome. Please bring your own breakfast and lunches. You are welcome to camp at no extra cost and use the basic toilet/shower and cooking facilities. We recommend immersing on the land for the weekend but if you live locally and would rather not stay then that is fine too. There are plenty of local bed and breakfasts in Earl Soham or the town of Framlingham which is ten minutes away. Friday and Saturday will finish around 9pm and we will end our time together by 3pm on the Sunday.
