Our Presencing sessions focus on supporting your health and wellbeing, tending the soil of your inner landscape and planting the seeds of your restoration
Unless we feel held, heard and supported without judgement or expectation, but instead with compassion curiousity, we cannot open into the process of tending.
The journey to a greater sense of wellbeing requires softening, which is a tough ask when we have faced traumatic experiences or events, been hurt or let down, experienced loss, or are living in unhealthy dynamics with those around us.
In an effort to try and find safety our body and mind can get stuck in a state of survival. We might find connection to others difficult, experience chronic pain or illness, live with stress, anxiety, low mood or a constant feeling of tension or unease.
In these sessions we hold you with compassion, curiosity and nurture to bring you home to the sanctuary of your inner landscape.
Using trauma informed, somatic and eco therapeutic approaches we help you explore your feelings, cultivate self awareness and self acceptance, build capacity in your nervous system and increase your sense of safety, confidence, clarity and overall wellbeing.
Working alongside nature, we help you remember yourself as part of the wider web of all life. Through evidence based nature connection practices we guide your felt sense of connectedness and belonging, whilst working with nature as a beautiful, grounding and resourcing support and ally. You'll be guided into practices that are designed to help you develop a more mindful presence and experience the proven restorative effects of deepening your embodied connection to nature.
Nature is not outside us. It is not the woods or mountains accessed only when we walk out the door of our home. We are nature. We are water, earth, fire, and air. By developing a felt sense awareness of our body in relation to the greater earth body we build resilience, restore vitality and nurture sensory reciprocity. Eco somatic enquiry supports in repairing a sense of disconnection to body by engaging in practices that support our nervous systems to access safety and nurture our capacity to embody the present moment.
We also play with Continuum Movement practices to engage the fluid body and explore breath, sound, movement and sensation as pathways to healing.
When we experience painful or traumatic events they become restricted, suppressed and stuck. Often specific emotions are held in some small and specific area of our body system, perhaps in our heart, stomach or head. Using gentle and subtle somatic enquiry we identify a specific emotion, a difficult feeling, and invite the experience of that difficult feeling into parts of our body or our body as a whole, using vocal release to support the process. We don't revisit the details of the experience, but work with the emotions and feelings that are present in the now. This expansion and embodiment process builds capacity to hold difficult emotions, offers relief from overwhelming bodily sensations and gives a great tool that you can use outside of the sessions to support self regulation.
Together we will explore how to connect with interoceptive awareness (the feeling of knowing what's happening in your body) and apply attuned self directed touch as a tool for self-regulation. If it feels comfortable for you to do so, and working within ethical parameters, our practitioner will also offer gentle, non invasive touch to support your internal system feeling connected, supported, protected, safe and cared for.
When we are faced with loss, through bereavement or life circumstances it can be hard to know where or how to process the emotions you are feeling. In a society that puts a timeframe on grieving and often devalues the individual experience of grief, we know how important it is to have spaces to be held and witnessed in the full spectrum of your emotions. Through self reflection and ceremony we support you in tending to your grief with reverence and care. Naming, exploring, feeling it all so that it can be processed and you can find peace.
